Attack on “BTC.com – Why People Still Doubt the Credibility of “Bitcoin”

For years now, the “Bitcoin” protocol has been used by people all around the world to send and receive money. Since its creation, millions of people have been attracted to this innovative, but controversial, currency. Although, the protocol was designed in an open and free manner, several people have claimed the same. This is despite the fact that there is a clear lack of information and details about how this revolutionary digital currency works. Even though, some people still doubt about the legitimacy and integrity of this currency, some of these doubts are still left unsatisfied.

The recent cyber attack on the website of “BTC.com” is one of the reasons why people still doubt the credibility of “Bitcoin”. Although, the attack occurred on the website of an Internet payment service provider, it has been deemed as an attack on “Bitcoin”. Moreover, people are still questioning why the hackers have targeted the website of “BTC.com”. This is even though, it is clear that the attack was not done by the website itself.

Attackers can make use of several methods to get into the website. One of the common methods is called Cryptojacking, which involves the use of a computer Trojan to trick a website’s visitors into opening a file from an unknown location on the Internet. Another common method used by attackers is called Cryptolocking, which involves the use of a computer worm, which can infiltrate a website’s network. Furthermore, the attackers can make use of a backdoor Trojan to get inside a website and gain access to its database.

Some experts believe that the attack is an attempt to manipulate the system of “Bitcoin”. They also think that the hackers’ goal is to divert the interest of people from the real benefits of “Bitcoin” and to steal its funds. Although, they think that the cyberattack is a “propaganda stunt” on the part of those who want to bring down the popularity of “Bitcoin”, experts agree that it is still an important matter to be noted.

The attack occurred on the website of an Internet payment service provider. Although, it is clear that the website was attacked, experts still question the legitimacy of the website. According to them, a website is not considered to be a “real” website if it is not protected against hackers.

The attack is a strong proof that “Bitcoin” is not a real currency. According to experts, it is evident that “Bitcoin” is a pyramid scheme and it is being used as an escape route from the real currency.
